As Sam mentioned in a previous post we’re both attempting this year’s NaNoWriMo. That’s National Novel Writing Month; the basic idea is to write 50,000 words in one month – the month of November. It started in the States, and now there’s participants and meet-ups / write-ins happening in many countries throughout the world.
It doesn’t matter what you write, or how terrible it is – all that matters is that you spill the 50,000 words and you’ll either have a mess with a few good bits that you can work on, or the bones of a story you can redraft. I have to admit, I’m a little daunted at my target of 2000 words a day on top of my regular writing work and the full time job… but I love to write. And it’s only for a month! And otherwise I’ll keep putting it off forever!
So good luck to EVERYONE who’s started today, and wish me and Sam luck too, we’ll keep you updated.
